  3. Expanded Kria and Print capabilities

Virtual Tikkun continues to enhance the only digital Torah learning environment customized with images from your Torah scrolls. Some recent additions to the application include:

New Triennial and Custom aliyot support

To accommodate synagogues that use the Triennial schedule of Torah readings, Virtual Tikkun now provides Torah organization and navigation for both Annual and the full 3 year Triennial cycle. Users can simply select “Annual” or “Triennial” and Virtual Tikkun will automatically reconfigure aliyot in every parsha based on the leyning schedule selected. In addition, Virtual Tikkun supports Custom aliyot. The correct aliyot are reflected in the Table of Contents, as well as within the Chumash text in the Tikkun (in the application, as well as in printed and downloadable versions), providing the correct readings to be learned by the Baal Kria (reader) or student.

New Print and Download capabilities

We are also pleased to introduce new enhanced Print and Download functionality. At different times our users need to print out one of three views: The Torah or Chumash alone, or the side by side Tikkun view with both Torah image and the aligned Chumash text – with optimized, highly readable text on the printed page. Virtual Tikkun now provides an interleaved version of the Tikkun from which a user can print any of these 3 views. Printing odd pages provides the Torah-only view, even-pages creates the Chumash-only view, and all pages provides the full side-by-side Tikkun.

These capabilities are available on all production environments as well as the Virtual Tikkun  online demo.

We hope that you share our excitement at these new developments. We are always interested in hearing from you – tell us how we are doing, or what additional capabilities or resources you’d like to see. Todah Rabbah!
